Welcome to the expanded Conference on Clean Energy Program!

In addition to coordinating with Boston Cleantech Venture Day on Tuesday, November 10 (please see our Conference fees page for package deals), the organizers of CCE 2009 are pleased to announce three days of high tech venture-related programming.

Wednesday, November 11

  • University Research Briefing Day: Learn about exciting clean energy research in our leading institutions and meet the professors leading those efforts. You could find the seed for your next company here!
  • International Reception: If you are a registered international attendee of the Conference, you are invited to attend our annual International Reception where you can meet leaders in the Clean Energy Cluster who can help you build your presence in Massachusetts, as well as networking with your fellow attendees.

Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13

Fifth Annual Conference on Clean Energy: Two action-packed days designed to provide you with the latest investment opportunities, business insights, career options, and fund-raising strategies, from seed to Stimulus.

  • Keynote Speakers: We are pleased to announce that Steve Koonin, Under Secretary for Science, DOE, the Honorable Deval Patrick, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and Ian Bowles, Massachusetts Secretary for Energy and Environmental Affairs will be giving Keynote speeches.
  • Investor Pitches: More than two dozen early stage companies and licensing opportunities will be showcased in sessions of ten-minute presentations. Past participants have raised more than $80M, so come find your next investment or make sure you showcase your business opportunity!
  • Industry Panels: Panel discussions company leaders on Backup & Stationary Power, BioEnergy, Carbon Management, Combined Heat & Power, Efficiency & Demand Response, Energy Storage, Motive Power & Fork Lifts, Portable Power, Smart Grid, Solar Energy and Wind Power.
  • Finance Panels: The finance panel discussions are aimed at issues faced emerging companies in the clean energy market. If you are starting up clean energy business, or looking down the road toward raising expansion capital or building out your first scaled-up project, this is an opportunity to learn from the experience of leading clean energy entrepreneurs and investors.
  • University Panels: Panel discussions featuring the professors who are leading ground-breaking research centers in our universities as well as those who have spun out companies will discuss how to develop, license and grow startup companies from university IP.
  • Career Program: With new political momentum for the nation's transformation to the clean energy economy, it has never been a better time to be part of the expanding renewable and clean tech sectors.  According to the Pew Charitable Trusts, the number of US jobs in the emerging clean energy economy grew nearly two and a half times faster than overall jobs between 1998 and 2007.  The Clean Energy Careers Panel will help navigate careers in the Clean Energy sector. Experts in the workforce development field and industry leaders will share their views on industry trends, skills demands, educational opportunities, and career development strategy.
